Angela Kaufman

Kauffman has spent 3 years in Italy gained notoriety as a portraitist and also created painting of history. Her appointment to Rome's Accademia San Lucia (the Academy of Saint Lucia) in 1765 was acknowledgment of her talents as an artist. Angelica Kauffman, who spent just 15 years living in England, had an important impact on London's Art Scene during the 18th Century. She became one of the two female founder members of The Royal Academy. Angelica Kauffman was sixty-six years old at the time she passed away on November 5th 1807. Kauffman studied Old Masters works in this city and then had her portraits sent out for exhibition to London.
